A Heartfelt Announcement
It is with profound sorrow and heavy hearts that we share this difficult news. The Africana Repertory Theatre at IU-Indianapolis (ARTI) has experienced the devastating loss of another esteemed board member, marking a second unforeseen tragedy this year.
Because of this, our organization is currently navigating a season of both grief and healing. While our commitment to fostering excellence in Black theater remains unwavering, the cumulative impact of these losses has made it impossible for us to produce the CenterStage event with the level of dedication, quality, and excellence our audiences deserve.
As a result, we have made the incredibly difficult decision to cancel the CenterStage 2024 event entirely. This time will be dedicated to honoring the memory of our lost colleagues, supporting our staff and board, and re-evaluating our organizational structure and goals.
We understand that this news will undoubtedly disappoint many, and we sincerely apologize for any inconvenience or disappointment this may cause. Your continued support and understanding mean the world to us.
We will provide updates on our plans for the future, as we move through this challenging period.
